Ethyl acetate, a colorless liquid with a characteristic, sweet odor, is a widely used solvent, especially for paints, varnishes, lacquers, cleaning mixtures, and perfumes. It is used as a solvent for decaffeinating coffee beans and also for formulating printing inks. Ethyl acetate is miscible with most organic solvents and can be used in cleaner blends for the removal of oils, grease, and soils. A key feature of Ethyl Acetate is that it is a non-HAP solvent.
