Lexgard® SC-50
Lexgard® SC-50 is a multifunctional skin conditioning agent that can aid the preservation of cosmetic formulations by creating a biostatic environment that prevents growth of microorganisms. Lexgard® SC-50 is primarily effective against bacteria and can be combined with a yeast & mold control agent, like Spectrastat™ CHA (Caprylhydroxamic Acid) for broad spectrum protection. Lexgard® SC-50 is an emollient, moisturizer and wetting agent which can be used in cosmetic emulsion systems such as skin care creams and lotions or in surfactant based products such as shower gels, facial cleansers and shampoos. Lexgard® SC-50 can also provide odor control in deodorant applications and an anti-soaping effect in emulsions. Lexgard® SC-50 (Ethylhexylglycerin) is listed in the China FDA IECIC inventory.
