Sodium Gluconate F.C.C. is a high-quality crystalline sodium salt of gluconic acid. It appears as white crystals that exhibit excellent solubility. This non-corrosive, non-toxic and highly pure gluconate is an excellent choice when dry material is preferred. Bulk density is approximately 59 pounds per cubic foot (.95 g/cc). It is an excellent chelating agent, especially in alkaline and concentrated alkaline solutions. Aqueous solutions of sodium gluconate are resistant to oxidation and reduction, even at high temperatures while being biodegradable. It is also a highly efficient set retarder and a good plasticize/ water reducer for concrete, mortar, and gypsum.
