Propylene Glycol is a colorless, odorless hygroscopic liquid this is used in a wide variety of applications. Its low toxicity and high purity provides beneficial use as a stabilizer, emulsifier, texturizer and humectant. The USP Kosher grade is used in facial creams, shampoos, foundations, body washes, and alpha hydroxy lotions. Propylene Glycol can be used as an excipient (non-active ingredient) in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products and is also used as a humectant and emulsifier in the production liquid laundry detergents.
