KATHON® CG Preservative
KATHON™ CG is a highly effective, broad-spectrum isothiazolinone preservative designed primarily for rinse-off personal care applications. It contains a synergistic blend of methylchloroisothiazolinone (CMIT) and methylisothiazolinone (MIT) in an aqueous solution with stabilizing salts, delivering strong antimicrobial protection against bacteria, yeast, and molds at very low use levels. The formulation is water-based, easy to incorporate, and compatible across a wide range of cosmetic ingredients while maintaining a favorable environmental profile due to rapid degradation and non-bioaccumulation.

Prohibited Uses
Not recommended for leave-on products above 7.5 ppm active ingredients. Maximum 15 ppm active ingredients in rinse-off formulations. Avoid use in products intended for direct mucous membrane contact (e.g., toothpaste, lip products, eye-area products). Stability may be impacted by high temperatures (greater than 50°C) or certain reactive ingredients (amines, thiols, sulfites).
