ALFOL® 14 ALCOHOL
Sasol North America's ALFOL® 14 Alcohol is high purity petrochemical-based 1-tetradecanol (also known as myristyl or tetradecyl alcohol). ALFOL® 14 Alcohol is a white solid with a sweet pungent odor. ALFOL® 14 Alcohol can be esterified, ethoxylated, propoxylated, sulfated, oxidized, etc. ALFOL® 14 Alcohol is classified as rapidly biodegradable in standard ready biodegradability tests. Sasol's ALFOL® Alcohols are physically and chemically equivalent to corresponding oleochemical- based alcohols derived from such sources as coconut oil or palm oil. 1-Tetradecanol (96 - 98.4%), with small amounts of 1-Dodecanol (0.9 - 2%) and 1-Hexadecanol (0.7 - 2%). NFPA Class IIIB combustible liquid.
