HOLD Styling Gel Results
Humidity resistance after five hours
The HOLD Styling Gel 2% MaizeCare Style Polymer provided less frizz and better definition than the base gel without MaizeCare Style Polymer immediately upon application. Results also showed humidity resistance, after 5 hours in 65% relative humidity.
Treatment: Panelist applied 2 grams of each hair gel to clean, damp hair.

Conditions: Humidity Resistance (30°C; 65% Relative Humidity) for 5 H
High humidity curl retention
The HOLD Styling Gel with 2% MaizeCare Style Polymer exhibited equivalent curl retention as a commercial benchmark containing Dehydroxanthan Gum and Acacia Senegal Gum.
Treatment: Humidity Resistance (25°C; 90RH), 0.45 grams of hair gel on 3 grams of virgin dark brown hair, triplicate hair tress per treatment.
Commercial Benchmark: Contains Dehydroxanthan Gum and Acacia Senegal Gum for hold.

TAME De-Frizz Wand Results
Instant Style and Frizz Control
The TAME DE-FRIZZ Wand containing 2% MaizeCare Style Polymer provided instant styling without heat, curl definition and minimized frizz.
Treatment: Panelist applied 2 g of TAME De-frizz Wand to clean, dry, frizzy hair.
DEFINE Molding Clay Results
Half-head panel testing for hold and frizz control
The DEFINE Molding Clay containing 3% MaizeCare Style Polymer provided better hold and an improved application feel, compared to a commercial benchmark. Panelist reported high friction feel on hair during application and loss of hold after a few hours with the commercial benchmark.
Treatment: Approximately 0.75 g of each sample was applied to clean, damp hair.

BOOST Sugar Spray Results
Half-head panel testing for definition and frizz control
The BOOST Sugar Spray containing 2.5% MaizeCare Style Polymer provided better definition and improved frizz control, compared to a commercial benchmark.
Treatment: Panelist applied four grams of each spray to clean, damp hair. After allowing hair to dry, photos were taken approximately 2.5 hours later.
Commercial Benchmark: Spray containing PVP/VA Copolymer and amodimethicone.
CONTROL Curl Cream, HOLD Styling Gel and DEFINE Molding Clay Results
Panelist testing: Textured hair
Treatment with the STYLED products, curls were more elongated, and less curl shrinkage as the hair dried. After five days, treatment with the STYLED products was preferred.
Treatment: Panelist with hair type 2C/3B washed and conditioned hair, applied cream and gel to damp hair, and used molding clay as edge control. Less CONTROL Curl Cream and HOLD Styling Gel products were needed compared to the commercial benchmark products to achieve the panelist’s desired style. Hair was allowed to dry for 24 hours.
Left Side: Commercial benchmark gel has DehydroxanthanGum and Acacia Senegal Gum for hold. Commercial benchmark clay has PVP for edge control.
Right Side: CONTROL Curl Cream and HOLD Styling Gel has 2% MaizeCare Style Polymer. DEFINE Molding Clay has 3% MaizeCare Style Polymer for edge control.
