Calcium hypochlorite is a chlorine compound appearing as a white granular solid, tablet or free flowing white granules that is designed for industrial and municipal water treatment. It is highly effective against bacteria, algae, slime, fungi and other harmful microorganisms and can be used in place of chlorine gas or liquid bleach in some applications.
