Colemanite 75 Calcium Borate from American Borate Company is a ground form of colemanite, a colorless to white crystalline material by the natural geologic processes resulting from volcanic activity 65.5 to 2.6 million years ago. Colemanite is typically found in the Kramer district of the Mojave Desert, and Death Valley in California. It naturally contains 39.50-40.50% boron trioxide by weight and 26-28% Calcium Oxide by weight, as well as small amounts of sodium oxide, sulfate, magnesium oxide, silicon dioxide, strontium oxide, iron (III) oxide, and aluminum oxide. It contains no more than 1% moisture by weight. It has been ground to an average 75 micron size for industrial use and sold without further chemical modification. Colemanite 75 Calcium Borate can be used as an industrial pre-cursor to boron alloys, borosilicate glass, textile grade fiberglass, and metallurgical fluxing.
