DOWSIL™ 210S Additive
DOWSIL™ 210S Additive is an ultra-high molecular weight silicone dispersion in water, supplied by Dow at approximately 60% active. It is used as a slip and surface-modification additive in waterborne wood coatings, where it customizes slip and hand-feel, improves mar and scratch resistance, and enhances anti-blocking. The additive offers good compatibility with various waterborne resin emulsions — including acrylic and polyurethane dispersion binders — and a low tendency to cause craters. Its comparatively low viscosity makes it easy to dose and incorporate, and it is typically used at 0.1–0.3% as supplied based on total formulation.
