Lexgard® GCP MB
Lexgard® GCP MB is a biostatic glyceryl caprylate and fragrance component blend that can aid in the preservation of cosmetic formulations. It can be used as an alternative to parabens, phenoxyethanol, MIT or other preservatives that may be undesirable. It acts as a multi-functional emollient and moisturizer which can be used in skin care creams and lotions, or in surfactant-based products such as shower gels, facial cleansers, and shampoos. It is recommended that Lexgard® GCP MB be used at concentrations of 0.8 - 1.0% w/w. When Lexgard® GCP MB is used in emulsions, it is recommended that it be incorporated into the water phase. It is also soluble in oils and may be used in anhydrous formulas. Lexgard® GCP MB (Phenethyl Alcohol (and) Glyceryl Caprylate) is listed in the China FDA IECIC inventory.
