Methanol is a clear, colorless liquid with an alcohol-like odor. It is completely miscible with water and is used as a chemical building block in a wide variety of consumer and industrial products and applications. The largest use for Methanol is to produce other chemicals like Acetic Acid, Formaldehyde and MTBE. It is also used as a solvent, to remove water from automotive and aviation fuels, as a denaturant for Ethanol and in antifreeze.
