Stearic Acids

Stearic acids are C18 saturated fatty acids produced from the hydrolysis of fats, such as beef tallow fat, or natural vegetable oils such as palm stearine, palm kernel, or soybean.  They are used both in raw form and chemical intermediate across many industries. Examples are an emulsifier thickener and surfactant in various creams, a hardener in candles, and a viscosity modifier in oil.
Univar Solutions' portfolio includes most of the versions of C18 saturated fatty acid that are available in the oleochemical marketplace. We offer versions of stearic acids that can be USP/NF, food grade, kosher and halal certified.
