What is a Safety Data Sheet?

 

SDS (Safety Data Sheet), formerly known as MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), is a document that provides detailed information around a chemical’s properties and its specific hazards. It outlines the precautions required when storing, transporting, and handling the chemical. 

The standardized format of the SDS is determined by the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS)It is required by OSHA, that SDS documents are readily available for employees and follow the defined format. 

How to find a Safety Data Sheet

 

Find a Safety Data Sheet on a product display page

  • Search and select the product you need
  • On the product display page, click the view/download link beside the SDS label
  • SDS will open in a new window or download to your browser

 

Find a SDS through your order history

  • Log into your account
  • Access your order history from your personal homepage dashboard
  • Click SDS to view or download
  • SDS will open in a new window or download to your browser
