Sodium Glucoheptonate 50%, Technical Grade, Liquid, 585 lb Drum
Sodium Glucoheptonate 50% is a chelating performer used an an industrial cleaner, concrete admixture, agricultural chelant, and textile mercerization It is an excellent biodegradable non-hazardous sequestering and chelating agent, which forms a non-ionic chelate with caustic soda 50% solution. The carbohydrates it is derived from makes it readily biodegradable. This high performance chelator demonstrates superior performance in the pH range between 9 to 14. Sodium Glucoheptonate is a stellar industrial cleaner with high efficiency for cleaning metal surfaces due to unique characteristics of forming stable chelates with di and tri-valent metal ions across a broad range. It also provides added value to the textile industry since it is capable of mercerizing plant based fibers for textile finishing to improve dye uptake, tear strength, reduce fabric shrinkage, and impart silk like luster. It can mercerize cotton, linen, hemp, and other plant based fibers. Sodium Glucoheptonate is used as an industrial cleaner for food processing plants, dairies, and breweries as well as glass cleaning, aluminum etching, degreaser in paint stripping and in the paper industry to prevent iron staining. It is a natural or bio-based material.
