Sodium starch glycolate is the sodium salt of carboxymethyl ether is a commonly used super-disintegrant employed to promote rapid disintegration and dissolution. Stargel® is considered acost-effective superdisintegrant because of its rapid swelling properties, good flowability and mixing properties.
