DOWSIL™ 8016 Waterborne Resin
DOWSIL™ 8016 Waterborne Resin is a water based emulsified resin; 100% solvent free.
Your best option to formulate sustainable, high temperature resisting coatings
DOWSIL™ 8016 Waterborne Resin is a water based emulsified resin; 100% solvent free.
This resin is the ideal product to formulate solvent free coatings for high temperature resistance applications.
It is highly competitive against solvent borne coatings in terms of performance and durability.
Applications:
- Industrial Pipes
- Metal Substrates
- Woods Stoves
- Exhaust Pipes
- Pigmented coatings
Characteristics:
- A novel Low VOC silicone resin emulsion for high temperature coatings
- Enabling waterborne formulations for paints requiring high-temperature resistance — as high as 500°C — without sacrificing performance and durability
- Provides tailored performance due to excellent compatibility with organic polymer emulsions such as acrylate dispersions
- Eliminates EHS concerns related to the use of existing solvent borne products
- Can be oven cured or air dried using tin free condensation catalysts as two-component cure system
Reduce costs associated with VOC emissions and handling by formulating with DOWSIL™ 8016 Waterborne Resin. Thanks to it's compatibility with acrylic emulsions, you can tailor performance while eliminating EHS concerns related to existing solventborne products.
Typical properties over cold rolled steel
- Oven cure: 200°C for 60 minutes
- Thickness: Wet: 150 µm – 6 mils Dry: 25 µm – 1 mil
- High hardness: >110 Persoz post-cured
- High chalking resistance after cured
- Low odor coatings formulation
