Breaking down body grime – a complex issue

Fabrics that are in contact with our skin including bed linens, towels and clothing absorb body grime, which builds up in the fibers over time.

Body grime is a complex stain that is made up of a range of organic components.  

• These include the millions of skin cells shed and liters of sweat and sebum excreted by the human body every day. 
• It also includes Extra-cellular DNA, proteins, carbohydrates/sugars and cell walls from dead microorganisms.

Traditional ways to address the consequences of body grime have employed sanitizers, bleach, perfumes, odor complexing agents, and optical brighteners. However, these methods do not address the underlying problem of body grime.

Pristine® - A new solution
